Modernize your business card

Adding a QR code to your business card bridges the physical and digital worlds. Recipients scan the code with their phone camera and your complete contact details — name, phone, email, title, company, website — are saved directly to their address book. No more manual entry, no more lost cards collecting dust in desk drawers.

Design tips

Place the QR code on the back of your card or in a corner of the front. Size it at least 2cm x 2cm (0.8 inches) for reliable scanning. Use a high error correction level (Q or H) since business cards are small and printing quality varies. Customize the foreground color to match your brand — the QR code does not need to be black.

Print specifications

Export as SVG for the sharpest print quality at any size. For offset printing, ensure your QR code has sufficient contrast (at least 40% difference between foreground and background brightness). Test the printed code with multiple phones before ordering a large batch.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size should a QR code be on a business card?

At minimum 2cm x 2cm (about 0.8 x 0.8 inches). Larger is better for reliable scanning. On a standard 3.5 x 2 inch card, a 1-inch QR code works well.

Should I use PNG or SVG for printing?

Always use SVG for print. SVG is vector-based, meaning it scales to any size without losing sharpness. PNG can look pixelated when enlarged for print.

Can I use a colored QR code on a business card?

Yes, as long as the foreground color is significantly darker than the background. Avoid light foreground colors on light backgrounds. Test scannability on your phone before printing.
